Undo

I feel like writing.

So, had a thought in the shower tonight (what? where do you have your thoughts?).... If you dislike prejudiced people, how are you not prejudiced yourself? If you dislike the people who dislike a lifestyle or a culture, you yourself are a bit prejudiced.

Why did rights have to get so complicated.

And no, I'm not the holier-than-thou person that points this out and declares how wrong it is. While I take whichever side - in any matter - that I believe deserves support, I'm one to look at and actually see both sides.

Alright. There's that.

My lifeline... my iPod... may be on its way to iPod heaven. It has served me well. Very well. It's gotten me through road trips and train travel, through countless hours of the evening shift of hospital cleaning, through housework and many of these blog posts. Including this one. I should really start saving for a new one, but there are so many other things on my do-get list right now.

Like getting a new screen for my laptop. I was gone for only a couple of minutes and suddenly the screen is cracked... starting from the middle of the left side and webbing out horizontally across to the other side. I saw it and thought...

A hazard of having a 4 year old, I guess.

That was one thing amongst many that made up the chain of bad luck I've been having lately. But, I shall prevail.

Aspects

Not the best day today. But still better than what I was once used to. Working in a hospital, you encounter heartbreak occasionally. Especially when you see someone you know. If it's someone you haven't seen for a while, you still imagine them to look the same as when you last saw them. Not... sick. Different physically, different mental capacity... God that sucked. They were still there mentally, (such a sweetheart), it just took a bit longer to process things. Standing there talking to them was definitely worth falling behind on my work. I didn't care.

A couple other things tonight made for an unfulfilled day, but the above sticks out most.

All in all, (you're just another bri-- sorry) I do believe I'm happier with this change in daily routine. Days has done me well, so far. As I said, even my not-so-good days are better than what they were before.

Ally

"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision."

"I desire a person, not a gender."

Inked Again...

So, got my new tattoo 2 days ago. Here it is...
I love it. Though, it was a bit more painful than I remember my previous four being.

I just like how it's very... me. Kinda piratey. You sometimes see people with a pair of guns... but I went a different route. Even the tattoo artist said he was happy to see something different.

Permanence & Naughty Wishes

Fasting a bit for my next tattoo, which is days away. The one I really wanted will require some saving up, and multiple sessions. But hopefully it can be achieved. This one should be pretty nice too, though.

I finally delved into the Desert Sessions. Having always loved the Queens of the Stone Age, I had seen Desert Sessions mentioned but had never looked into what it entailed, until recently. Founded by (mmm) Josh Homme, it's a bunch of artists and musicians getting together at a ranch in California that is "filled to the brim with rare and unique recording equipment." There have been 10 volumes so far. I like the concept of people getting together and making music on their own terms and time. With no deadlines or management.

Looking forward to fully enjoying my weekends off. Should be in a few weeks.

And to end, a gif. Just because I found this...

I wish.

Marching On

Pint glass collection has commenced. Didn't start with the two I intended to purchase, but that's ok. The one I shared in my last post seems to be more about Day of the Dead than pirates, so I hesitated. Might get it anyway. I just like the design.

My child got the movie Wall-E for his birthday per my suggestion (we already had it, but it was in rather poor condition). Wall-E is probably tied with Hercules and Emperor's New Groove for my favorite Disney movies... so when he wants to watch it at least once a day (no joke), I'm hesitant. I don't want to deny him what he wants, but I would like it to remain a beloved feature film of mine. Thankfully, last night, he surprised us and requested Toy Story 3.

Another story about said child... something that still warms me... the other day, he was in trouble for... well he's 4, fill in the blank. After crying out his punishment, he climbs up beside me on the couch, murmuring his apologies, and kisses me on the cheek. Now, this was extremely significant because even with goodnight or goodbye kisses on the lips, they were just puckers. Nothing that had sound. This was a smacker. The first that both me and his father knew of. And it was one of the singly greatest things ever.

Looking forward to May. For many reasons.

I've always kinda liked Martin Short, but seeing him on How I Met Your Mother has reminded me of his style of humor, and I love him. Loved him in the Father of the Bride movies, loved him as the voice of the clown in We're Back!, loved him and Steve Martin teaming up in Prince of Egypt after doing FotB movies and Three Amigos together. Need to see that last one again. However, I was never interested in his Glick character.

Had a good dinner at a favorite restaurant tonight. Good food, good drinks, good company.

It Comes In Pints!

I lied. I'm not giving Entourage a chance. Nothing about the pilot makes me want to see more. Unfortunately. I'll try something else.

The day shift is still going. Yes, going. I love how fast it goes, but I'm still adjusting to the pace. I hope to fit in.

Don't really have time for music anymore, like I used to. Working evenings, I was always looking for new music to add to my collection and listen to during my shift. Now, I can't listen at work and have my child when not working (no complaints btw). I'll figure something out.

Speaking of music, I had a portion of a song in my head today. It's played during a montage preview of various Disney movies, and unfortunately I only know the first two lines. "As sly as a fox, as strong as an ox..." That's always fun. It's called "Everything At Once" by an Australian lass who goes by the name Lenka. Got her album today, just need to listen to it now.

Tonight I decided to start collecting pint glasses. Found the first two I want to get. And good gifts for a couple people I care about. Here's one I'm getting for myself:

Getting weary. Time to power down to sleep mode.

Take care.
