Angela Hoover

This woman is my hero. There are select stand-up comedians I'm into, but when I'm into them, I love them. Daniel Tosh, JR Brow, Adam Ferrara, Ron White... Brian Haner does his stand-up with a guitar and incorporates music into his act and it's awesome... Jeff Dunham sometimes does stand-up before bringing out his puppets and it's great... But impressionists hold a special place in my heart. Kevin Pollack does AMAZING Christopher Walken. Jeff Davis does excellent Jeff Goldblum.

But this is the first woman I've seen that is absolutely fantastic and so memorable in her act. And has such a variety. She seriously inspires me.  Please, please watch. Worth it.

This is the first time I saw her:

And, in my opinion, her best performance of all these.

Here was the second time I saw her:

Loved the Christina Aguilera. So after seeing that, I looked her up and found this, something from years before:

Like I said, she's my hero. I never voted for anyone on America's Got Talent til I saw her. Best of luck, Angela.

Now Serving Transylvanians

My long-awaited parcel arrived in the mail today (after being accidentally missent to another area code). I ordered a Queens of the Stone Age flash drive that has their latest album, some artwork, and videos, along with storage for whatever I desire to put on it. AND... it's a bottle opener!

It was buy one get one, so I split the purchase with a friend of mine who too enjoys QotSA. They also sent a pin, which I attached to my purse, and a foil sticker. I have yet to decide where it'll go.

This past weekend, at least Friday night, was a blast. The aforementioned pal was holding a Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing in the theatre under his store. I'd been to one there before (and was one of two who dressed up) but this one had way more in attendance and participation. Many people dressed up. No one in the costume I choose to use, which made me both wish I had worn it, and make me feel kinda uniquely creative. Anyway, I went in early to hang out with another friend, a gal pal, who was running the store while the owner was on an outing. I hooked up my phone to the place's sound system and started DJing. Then it got crazy with people arriving and I jumped in to help her, serving up all types of ice cream treats. Scoops, shakes, floats... It may have been a bit easier without having consumed rum beforehand, but I handled it. And the customers were cool, were good with the newbie girl. Having a low-cut shirt, bending over the ice cream cooler may have helped.

Have yet to go to a Rocky Horror audience participation show and remember seeing the end. But that's alright. I've been to three, and this one has been the best so far. Shared a big comfy recliner with said gal pal during the movie.

Side note... Does the friendly French kiss-kiss on each cheek upon departure thing generally conclude with a kiss on the lips? I've since had interesting dreams.

Ah, and after... I had brought some absinthe with me. My first consumption of it. He did it interestingly... Poured a shot, lit it on fire, then mixed it with grape soda. (He says orange juice is better, but he didn't have any.)

Reserved

Finally got some of the beer I raved about a few months ago! Yesterday I bought four 22oz bottles of Widmer Brothers' Kill Devil. Has a 9.5% alcohol content. Hehe. I wish I could've bought more, since it's harder to find and at least 2.5 hours away, but these 4 bottles had a total of about $52. Yikes.

"90% ale brewed with palm sugar and molasses and aged in rum barrels and 10% ale."

Sooo good. I've only had it draft before, but I'm looking forward to my friend and I seeing how this compares.

Also, I had to ask why some of them came in boxes and some didn't. It was concluded that it had to do with the limited editions. The boxed bottles were Limited Edition No. 6 and the bottles without boxes were Limited Edition No. 10.

Disagree. I Dare You.

La laaa, la la-la la...

^I had this pair but one of them fell victim to my 4 year old. Just now found them for sale online. Score.

^Really like these^

I got nominated to play music at work for the morning shift changes. Tomorrow, Monday, will be my first day. See if anyone laughs at my choice of first song. Hint: Has to do with the day.

The Bluetooth speaker I bought today isn't pairing with my laptop for some reason. Luckily it has a Line In and I can just use my iPod and an aux cable. Easier that way anyhow. Nice speaker... not the Bose I wanted, but someday. Someday.
